Description
This is an antique Japanese early Meiji Era (c. 1870)kobachi
(small Imari serving bowl)
made of a high fire ceramic for lasting durability. It is all hand thrown and hand painted with florals and intricate blue/gold and red lattice work in multi color (akaimari) Imari. It was a type of bowl known as a kobachi and used in Meiji and Edo era cuisine to serve a small salad or pickled dish.
This kobachi bowl measures 4 3/4" in diameter by 2 1/2" tall (12 x 6 cm). Having been in storage for over a century well protected, this bowl remains in
fine condition.
